An esteemed Russian army officer has been declared dead following an detonation in Moscow, according to official statements.
The event happened on Monday morning when an IED planted beneath a vehicle detonated, causing the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.
Sarvarov held the position of the head of the armed forces' department for training operations.
Authorities mentioned that one theory under investigation involves the possible involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services. To date, Ukraine has not issued a comment.
